A website for Box and Beam Joinery, a joiner in Northumberland

A quote button on every page, published prices and a page for landlords.

The Box and Beam Joinery website on a phone

Box and Beam Joinery is run by Alex Parkinson, a joiner in Morpeth. Its site says it serves Newcastle upon Tyne and Northumberland. My team and I built a site that puts the quote first and shows Alex's prices.

The business

Alex does doors, skirting, kitchens, flooring and whole renovations. His site puts the quote button in the header and shows his own prices, so a visitor can see both before they scroll.

What my team and I built

  • A quote button in the header on every page, "Get my free quote".
  • A quote form that asks for the kind of job and the area first, so Alex can reply with the right questions.
  • A strip that says the prices are his own, with his day rate and prices for common jobs, like hanging a door.
  • A page for landlords.
  • Service pages for the kinds of work he does.
  • A WhatsApp link and the phone number.
  • A blog.

I tested the quote form with Alex before it went live. I also designed business cards for him that carry a QR code opening the same form.

How it works day to day

Someone looking for a joiner can see the prices, then press the quote button or message on WhatsApp. The form tells Alex the job type and area before he replies.

A joiner's site has two jobs: show the work and make the quote easy to ask for. Showing prices and putting the quote button in every header does both.

What Vicky says

The Box & Beam Joinery website

He’s recently rebuilt our Box & Beam Joinery website following a change in direction for the business, and he’s absolutely blown us away. When it’s your own business, it means so much to see something you care about represented properly. Looking at the new website and thinking “that’s us” is such a lovely feeling.

This site runs on WordPress with Elementor, a drag-and-drop page builder. I pick WordPress or Next.js for each job, and here is how websites are built.

On every website I build, I work to the same terms. The web address is registered in the client's name from day one. The site and everything on it, the files, the words and the photos, belong to the client once it's paid for.
