Websites for minibus and van hire companies

Your fleet, your hire terms, and a quote form that asks for dates, numbers, pick-up and return.

I'm Luke Duff, a web designer in Sunderland. I do van hire website design for minibus, van, coach and equipment hire firms. I lead every project, so you deal with me from the first message to long after launch. Hire firms anywhere in the UK can work with me on WhatsApp, the phone or Google Meet. Most websites cost between £1,500 and £5,000.

The hire website I built for D&G

D&G Minibus and Van Hire runs minibuses with a driver for groups of 8 to 16. It's based in Sunderland and covers the North East. Its site has:

  • A page for each kind of trip, from airport runs and football away days to school transport and weddings
  • A quote form that asks where you're going and how many are travelling
  • A Call Now button that stays on screen
  • A section for each area it covers, such as Durham, Gateshead and South Shields
  • An FAQ on vehicle sizes, drivers and the areas covered
  • A gallery, reviews and a blog

I also write posts for D&G's blog, including a set on school trips. In 2025 I moved the site to new hosting, and I look after its updates and backups.

See it live at dgminibusvanhire.co.uk (opens in a new tab).

What a hire company's website needs

Whether it's a van hire website, a coach hire website or a site for equipment hire, it has to answer the same questions before anyone books.

  • Your fleetGive each type of vehicle or kit its own page or section, with real photos. Say how many seats, which licence is needed and whether it comes with a driver.
  • Your hire termsSet out the deposit, cancellation, licence, insurance and mileage rules in plain words, where customers see them before they pay. You write the terms, and I make them easy to find and easy to read.
  • A quote form that gets the full detailsAsk for dates, numbers, pick-up and return, so you can price the job from the first message.
  • The areas you really coverGive each one a section that says what you do there. D&G's Durham section, for example, covers university travel, weddings, events and airport runs.
  • Answers to hirers' questions"Can you hire a van with a normal licence?" "What documents do I need to hire a van?" Put the answers in an FAQ, so people have them before they ring.
  • Posts about real tripsWrite about the jobs you actually run, like D&G's posts on school trips.

The site also needs to be there when someone's ready to book. I do website hosting on its own, or as part of Care+.

Online quotes and deposits

The quote form on your site collects the booking details, so you can price the job from the first message. I can also add a deposit button to your site, so a customer can pay by card to hold a booking. It runs through Stripe or SumUp.

Quote Desk for hire firms, a fuller booking system, is coming soon. Read about Quote Desk for hire firms (coming soon).

From a free call to launch: 3 to 6 weeks for a standard site

  1. Call.

You tell me about your fleet, your areas and how bookings come in now. The call is free and takes 15 minutes.

  2. Price.

I send you a fixed price in writing. You pay half to start.

  3. Build.

I build it. You see the site on a private preview link before it goes live and send changes by WhatsApp or email. Two rounds of changes are included. Nothing gets added that you didn't ask for.

  4. Launch.

You pay the other half, the site goes live, and it's yours.

A standard site takes 3 to 6 weeks.

What a hire website costs

Most websites I build cost between £1,500 and £5,000, and smaller sites start at £795. Before I start, you get a fixed price in writing. You pay half to start and half before the site goes live. I'm not VAT registered, so the price you see is the total.

Once you're live, looking after the site is optional: Care+ website maintenance at £49 a month, or a plan shaped to your site, priced after a call.

What stays yours

  • Your web address is registered in your name from day one.

  • Once the site is paid for, it's yours, along with everything on it: the files, the words and the photos.

  • Your Google Business Profile stays yours. I'm added as a manager, and you stay the owner.

If you ever move on, you get everything within 10 working days.

I've written more about who owns your website.

Questions from hire firms

Can customers pay a deposit through my website?

Yes. I can add a deposit button to your site, so customers pay by card to hold a booking. It runs through Stripe or SumUp. Quote Desk for hire firms, a fuller booking system, is coming soon. If you'd like to know when it's ready, WhatsApp me.

Can you show my vehicles and hire terms clearly?

Yes. Each vehicle or type of kit gets its own page or section, with photos, seats and licence details. Your terms go on a plain page that's easy to find. You supply the terms, and I lay them out so they're easy to read.

Do you write blog posts for hire firms?

Yes. I write D&G's, including a set of posts on school trips. Blog writing is a separate service from the website, priced after a call, and it's also included in Care+.

How much does a hire company website cost?

The same as any website I build. Prices start from £795, and most cost between £1,500 and £5,000. You get a fixed price in writing before work starts, and that's the total, with no VAT to add.
