What you get with an online shop
I build the shop around what you sell, on the platform that suits it. Here's what goes in:
- Products and a checkout.Your products, prices and photos, with a basket and checkout.
- Card payments.Through the provider you use now or the one your shop needs. I've set up Stripe, SumUp, WooPayments and pay-by-bank.
- A checkout that works on a phone.Paying works properly on a small screen.
- Abandoned-cart reminders.An email to people who leave without paying.
- One login to run it.Add products, change prices and see your orders. Ask, and I'll walk you through it.
- A private preview.See the shop before it goes live. Nothing gets added that you didn't ask for.

You see the shop on a private preview link and send changes by WhatsApp or email. Two rounds of changes are included.

What an online shop costs
I price every shop after a free call, by how many products you have, how you take payment and deliver, and whether I write your product text.
You get a fixed price in writing, half to start and half before launch. I'm not VAT registered, so that's the total. If you ever move on, you get everything within 10 working days.
Your payment provider takes a fee on each sale. Shop care is priced separately from Care+ website maintenance, and you never need it to have a shop built. See how shop pricing works.

Already selling online?
I move shops over from Etsy, eBay, Shopify or an old WooCommerce site, or add one to the site you have. Send me a link on WhatsApp and I'll tell you what I'd do. Help with product text and photos is quoted, so ask up front.
I can also rebuild an old shop, or start with a free website check.

How much does an ecommerce website cost in the UK?
I price each shop after a free call, by its products, payments and delivery. You get a fixed price in writing before work starts, and that price is the total.
Does WooCommerce charge transaction fees?
The plugin is free, though some upgrades and support cost extra (opens in a new tab). The fee on each sale comes from your payment provider. WooPayments, for example, takes its fee from each payment (opens in a new tab). Check the provider's price page, because fees change.
Can I transfer WooCommerce to Shopify?
Yes. WooCommerce says you're "free to export all your content and take your site to any platform you choose", and once your shop is paid for, it's yours. Here's which platform suits your shop.
Is WooCommerce safe?
It depends on how well it's looked after. WordPress, WooCommerce and the payment add-on all get updates someone has to install, and I can do that for you, priced after a call.
How do I open an online shop in the UK?
Decide what you'll sell and at what price, how you'll take payment and deliver, and your returns rules. GOV.UK's rules include telling customers they can cancel up to 14 days after delivery, so read its guide to selling online (opens in a new tab) before you launch.
How long does it take to design and develop a WooCommerce website?
It depends on how many products you have. I give you a time for your shop with the price.
