5.0 from 31 Google reviews (checked Nov 2026)I'm Luke Duff, and I do professional services website design for consultants, technical firms and B2B suppliers. I'm based in Sunderland and work with firms anywhere in the UK. Your site should say plainly what you do, show the work behind it and make it easy for a referral to get in touch. I run every project myself, so you deal with me from the first call. Most websites I build cost between £1,500 and £5,000.
Work for professional and B2B firms

- Smart Payment Solutions, Sunderland
- What they do
- Compare card machines and till systems from UK providers, for businesses across the UK mainland
- What my team and I built
- A custom website with a machine-matching tool, a five-step quote form, a cashback section and a blog
- Platform
- Next.js, with the blog written in WordPress

How the Smart Payment Solutions site works
Smart Payment Solutions compares card machines and till systems from several UK providers. The site had to help a business owner work out which one suits them, then ask for a quote.
"Find My Machine" does the first sort. It asks for the type of business, how much it takes on card each month and the features that matter. Then it scores every machine against those answers and shows the top three.
Paul Huxley, who runs the business, had his products in a spreadsheet, so I built the first version of the tool from it. The live site now reads products, rates and the offer banner from his Google Sheet. When he changes a row, the site picks it up within about a minute.
- A five-step quote form. It opens with the type of business and monthly card takings, so each enquiry arrives with the basics already filled in.
- Spam checks on every form, and tracking that waits until a visitor accepts cookies.
- A cashback section. When Paul asked for it in September 2026, I quoted it in writing as a separate job before I built it.

…Start to finish was an organised and methodical process with professional, clear and concise communication throughout. Luke delivered an exceptional website, even with some technical challenges set, he rose to the task and delivered with ease.
More work for B2B firms
Time Liberation, in Sunderland, does admin automation for small businesses. I rebuilt its WordPress site in Next.js, with intro-call booking and a cost calculator. I designed six homepage options first, and the owner picked one.

What a B2B website has to do
A B2B website has to make a bigger buyer comfortable getting in touch. If they already have your name, the site is where they decide whether to use it.
- It looks like the firm you areIf your site looks smaller than your business, a bigger buyer may pass you over.
- A page for each service, in plain wordsSo the person signing off the budget understands it too.
- A quote form that asks the right questionsIt asks for the details you'd need on the first call anyway.
- Proof where a buyer looks for itCase studies, accreditations and policies, easy to find.
- Your company detailsIf you're a limited company, the law says your website must show (opens in a new tab) your registered name and number, where you're registered and your registered office address. They can all sit in the footer.
It's the same website design I do for every business, set up for the way B2B buyers check a firm.
When a website isn't enough: quote tools and portals
If your customers need to get a price, check an order or log in, I can build that into your site as a web app. The Smart Payment Solutions matching tool is one. Web apps run in the browser on phones and computers, and I don't build App Store apps. See quote tools and client portals.
If the tool is for your own staff, like a job system or a dashboard, that's custom software. For Fibretec, a fibre and telecoms installer, I built a password-protected forms system for its staff. And if you need the tools you already use to talk to each other, that's automating the admin behind it.
I price all of these after a call. You still get a fixed price in writing before I start, and you pay half to start and half before it goes live.
How a project runs
Call.
You tell me about your firm and what the site needs to do. The call is free and takes 15 minutes.
Fixed price.
I send you a fixed price in writing before any work starts. You pay half to start.
Build.
I build it. You see the site on a private preview link before it goes live and send changes by WhatsApp or email. Two rounds of changes are included. Nothing gets added that you didn't ask for.
Launch.
You pay the other half before it goes live.
A standard site takes 3 to 6 weeks. A quote tool or portal adds time, which depends on the job, and your quote sets it. I pick WordPress or Next.js (two common ways to build a website) for each job: Next.js for speed and custom work, and WordPress when you want to do a lot of the editing yourself.

What it costs
Most websites I build cost between £1,500 and £5,000, and smaller sites start at £795. Bigger builds, with tools, portals or links to the other systems your firm uses, are priced after a call.
Either way, you get a fixed price in writing before I start. You pay half to start and half before launch. I'm not VAT registered, so the price you see is the total.
After launch, looking after the site is optional: Care+ website maintenance at £49 a month, or a plan shaped to your site, priced after a call.

Questions from professional and B2B firms
How much does a B2B website cost?
Most websites I build cost between £1,500 and £5,000, and smaller sites start at £795. Quote tools, portals and other custom work are priced after a call. Either way, you get a fixed price in writing before any work starts. I'm not VAT registered, so that price is the total. My prices page has the detail.
Can you build a quote tool or client portal into the website?
Yes. I build these as web apps, which run in the browser on phones and computers rather than through an app store. The machine-matching tool on the Smart Payment Solutions site is one example. They're priced after a call, with a fixed price in writing before I start.
Who will I deal with?
You deal with me, from the first call to launch and after it. When a job needs more hands, my team and I build it, and you still talk to me. I reply the same working day, in UK hours.
How long does a website take?
A standard site takes 3 to 6 weeks. A quote tool, a portal or anything custom adds time, and your quote sets the timescale. I'll talk you through it on the call.
Do you have professional indemnity insurance?
Yes. I hold £100,000 of professional indemnity (PI) cover. Each project also gets its own written agreement, which sets out the scope, timings and liability.
Who owns the website and the domain?
You do. Your domain is registered in your name from day one, and the site and its content are yours once it's paid for. If you ever move on, you get everything within 10 working days. Here's more on who owns what.
