5.0 from 31 Google reviews (checked Nov 2026)I'm Luke Duff, an AI consultant in Sunderland for small businesses. I look at how your business actually runs, tell you where AI would help, then set it up and show your team how to use it. If AI isn't worth it for you yet, I'll say so.
What a session with me looks like
You can work with me in one of three ways:
- One video call, with written notes from me afterwards
- A half-day workshop
- Ongoing help each month
What you get is shaped to the job: text documents, PDFs, video guides or online training. Calls happen on WhatsApp, phone or Google Meet, wherever you are in the UK.
Start with the job, not the tool
I start with the jobs that eat your week, like writing quotes or answering the same emails over and over. For each one I ask: would AI do it well enough that you'd trust the result, with a person checking it? Sometimes the answer is no.
If you'd rather work it out yourself, my free guide to using AI in your business goes through the common jobs.
He explains everything clearly and guides you to get a better end product than you thought possible.
Where AI helps, and where it trips up
It helps with first drafts. A reply to a customer, a method statement, a description of a job. You get something to fix instead of a blank page.
It trips up on facts. Google's own guidance (opens in a new tab) says generative AI models "don't retrieve facts, but predict a likely sequence of words". Prices, dates, laws and anything about your business need a person to check them.
I've seen it in my own work. Going back through the blog posts my system had drafted, I found claims that couldn't be backed up, and fixed or cut every one.
Setting it up, or having it built
If something's worth doing, I set it up for you and show your team how to use it.
If a job should run on its own, like copying every enquiry into a spreadsheet by hand, that's a build, not advice. It moves over to having it built for you.
What it costs
The first call is free and takes 15 minutes. The consulting itself is paid: a video call, a half-day workshop or monthly help, priced after that first call, so you know the cost before any work starts.
I reply the same working day, in UK hours.
Questions about AI consulting
What does an AI consultant do?
An AI consultant looks at how your business works and tells you where AI tools would help, where they wouldn't, and when the answer is "not yet".
How can AI help me run my small business?
Mostly with first drafts, like replies and job descriptions that you check and rewrite. It's weaker on facts, so a person checks anything with a price, a date or a law in it. My free guide covers more.
What does an AI automation consultant do?
If you already know the job you want done automatically, you don't need much advice. You need it built, and that's what my business automation work is for.
Is there any AI you won't sell me?
Yes: an AI receptionist on its own, AI that makes calls to your customers, a WhatsApp bot that tries to answer anything, and someone else's marketing platform with my name stuck on it. You can read how I use AI myself.
