I'm Luke Duff, and I do website redesign in Sunderland, across the North East and anywhere in the UK. I fix your site or rebuild it, keep what works, and lead every project myself. Most websites I build cost between £1,500 and £5,000.

Fix it or rebuild it?
I do both. Some sites need a fix, others need starting again:
| At a glance | Fix it | Rebuild it |
|---|---|---|
| What changes | The parts that are broken or out of date | The design, the pages and how it's built |
| When it's right | The site mostly works, and you're happy with how it looks | It's dated, hard to update, or doesn't work on phones |
| What stays | Everything that already works | Your web address, and the wording and photos worth keeping |
| How long | Quoted | Quoted |
| Price | Priced after a call | Most sites cost £1,500 to £5,000, fixed in writing |
Not sure? Send me your web address on WhatsApp, and I'll look first and tell you honestly which I'd do.
What's included, and what isn't
Compare it with other website redesign services. Mine covers:
- Every page on your current site listed, with where it goes on the new one.
- A redirect for every old page address that changes, so old links still work.
- Your page titles and the wording worth keeping, carried across.
- A site that works properly on phones, tablets and computers.
- Google Search Console set up, to show how Google reads the site.
- Checks after launch, and two rounds of changes once you've seen it.
Priced separately: new wording written from scratch, rebuilding an online shop, and changes after the two rounds.

How a redesign runs, and how long it takes
Look.
I go through your current site and list every page.
Plan.
I match each old page to its new home, so old links still work.
Build.
You see the new site on a private preview link and send changes by WhatsApp or email. Two rounds are included.
Check.
I check the new site against the old one.
Switch.
The new site goes live, and I watch Google Search Console for problems.
You get a time with the price.
Will a redesign affect my Google rankings?
It can for a while, as Google says itself (opens in a new tab), so nobody can honestly promise it won't. What I do: keep every page address that can stay, and redirect each one that changes, because "301 and other permanent redirects don't cause a loss in PageRank." Then I check it all after launch.
One job for you: check your Google Business Profile still links to your site, and don't rename your business on Google that week, as a new name can mean verifying again (opens in a new tab).
Sites I've redesigned

My website is a huge improvement on my previous one, it flows incredibly well and he has designed it with my target audience in mind.

What a redesign costs
A redesign is priced like any website: most cost between £1,500 and £5,000, smaller sites from £795, fixed in writing before I start. Pages, any shop and new wording move the price.
Looking after it afterwards is optional: Care+ website maintenance at £49 a month, or a plan shaped to your site, priced after a call.

Hacked or broken right now?
Message me first. I take these jobs on for any site, and if a previous designer has locked you out, I can help you get access back.

Questions about redesigning a website
How much should a website redesign cost?
The same as a new site: most cost between £1,500 and £5,000, and smaller sites start at £795. It's fixed in writing, with no VAT to add.
Does website redesign affect SEO?
It can, for a while: Google says any big change can bring "ranking fluctuations". Keeping page addresses, redirecting the ones that change and checking after launch is what helps.
How long does a website redesign take?
I quote the time with the price, so you know before anything starts.
Can I hire someone to fix my website?
Yes. Send me your web address and what's wrong, or ask for a free website check first. I do it myself and reply within 2 working days.
How do I plan a website redesign?
List every page you have and mark the ones that bring in enquiries. Decide what stays, goes or is missing. Then plan the redirects, build, and check after launch.
Should I redesign my website?
If two or three of these sound familiar, yes: it looks dated or breaks on a phone, you can't change it yourself, nobody gets in touch through it, you can't reach whoever built it, or the browser says "Not secure". Looks fine but brings in nothing? Here's why a good-looking site can still get no enquiries.
How often should a website be redesigned?
There's no set number of years. Redesign when the site stops doing its job, and until then, keep it updated and fix what breaks.
