About this project
Gavin runs two branches in Sunderland, Fulwell and Grindon. A family arriving here may have just lost someone, so the site opens with three routes: someone has died, planning ahead, or just looking. Both phone numbers sit at the top of every page. The prices are all published, with a tool that builds an estimate, and the help pages answer what families ask in plain words. I showed Gavin several homepage designs before building one.
What they asked for
- Rebuild the site so a family in a hard week can find the phone number and the next step straight away.
- Publish every funeral option and its price, with a way to build an estimate.
- Answer the questions families ask, written for Sunderland.
What I built
- Three routes from the homepage: someone has died, planning ahead, and just looking.
- Both branches' phone numbers in the header, and both addresses on the contact page.
- A standardised price list, additional options, crematorium and cemetery fees, and an estimate builder.
- Help and advice pages, from registering a death to choosing what to do with the ashes.
