About this project

A joiner's card should earn a place in the toolbox, so the bottom edge of this one is a working ruler, 0 to 7 cm in millimetre steps, drawn to print at true size. It is matt black board with the logo and ruler in gold foil, gloss spot UV facets, and a QR code on the back that opens the quote form. It was the last of nine designs I drew for Box and Beam.

What they asked for

  • Business cards to match the new logo and the rebuilt website.
  • A quick route from the card to a quote.

What I built

  • A working 7 cm ruler along the front edge, in 1 mm steps with 0.2 mm ticks, checked to print at true size.
  • Foil and spot UV supplied as separate artwork layers alongside the print file.
  • A QR code on the back that opens the quote form on the new site.
How it was built
  • All nine designs are generated from one script, so their measurements match exactly.
