How it's built
The moving background is drawn by your device's graphics chip with WebGL shaders I wrote by hand, with no libraries. It bends round your pointer, or to a tilt on a phone, and holds still when you ask your device for less motion.
Under the words, the shader keeps the colours light or dark enough for the text to stay readable, and the lab reads the drawn pixels back to show the contrast it measured.
